If your family member does not speak English very well, do not send them alone here. The counselor (admin staff who helps you fill out a report) was all over the place, asking my dad two questions at a time and getting the details mixed up. I had to explain some of the same information 3 times. She was very rude and confusing, I got frustrated and my dad would've gone through tremendous stress had I not been there. After everything was done, she said people from our insurance company were there, for us to meet with them in person. We thought it odd, since we already contacted our insurance company and we had a clear plan of what to do next. Since they are here let us just figure out why, we thought. Then she told us to just wait. I asked why, and she said because 'he' is not here. So she lied about the first part, and seemed like she was getting someone from her private contact, perhaps to take care of our damage repair. I again told her clearly that we've been in touch with our insurance company and she said 'then you can go.' (As if she has any right to hold us there. No apology or explanation was given.)

This was unacceptable customer service considering a customer had fallen on their property. I will be contacting higher authority to ensure this does not happen to anyone!

Only then did I see another employee put on her jacket and gloves and begin salting all walkways, front steps, ramp and inside.

I recall my experience here a couple months ago with my mom after being rear ended. When we grabbed a ticket the lady who helped us fill a report couldn’t speak English properly herself and was so egoistic and showed off her position with her rude attitude towards my stressed out mom and to me as well. Once we got our work done we went to a police officer and he wasn’t even better. Completely rude and looked at us like we were idiots - how unprofessional. Was expecting a nicer, friendly environment as promised on their T.V. after a stressful encounter with the individual who rear ended us. Nope.

He only then asked if an ambulance needed to be called after 5 minutes of complaining about the lack of maintenance. He then told me I would speak to a maintence person. No one every did come speak to me. I took the concern elsewhere and started complaining to a employee by the name of Sandi. When I asked her “why is it not salted?” she replied “we were unaware of the conditions outside.” So I replied back “so an incident has to happen before you realize the conditions?” She was unable to answer my question.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. An incident occurred due to the lack of maintenance on the property.

Nice girl for the first part of the process, then over to the police desk where an overweight, self-important Toronto Police Officer, grunted here! The lack of basic people skills were an embarrassment to all the other police officers striving everyday to work with pride and complete professionalism.

A centre that has constant customers and not to mention their own employees using their facility walkways and doors, you would think they would maintain it. Wrong. It had been snowing producing a accumulation on the ground. No salt on any of the front steps or ramp, causing conditions to be slippery and a friend falling on the steps and injuring her back. It wasn’t bad enough she was already in a car accident but not have to deal with a new injury due to the lack of responsibility of employees.

The policewoman finalizing our report was helpful and fair.

As a concerned individual for not only myself but others, I brought this concern to two different people, an officer and an accident support service employee.

And on their TV screen was a text about creating a friendly environment at the Centre. How disappointing.

I was there on a Wednesday morning (around 8:30 am). There were two people ahead of me, but my accident details were processed quickly. The police officer I spoke to was clear and concise in what in the report I needed to review, sign, and give details on. They also give you access to a phone to call your insurance. The whole process took about 1.5 hours. All staff I dealt with were helpful and patient. I had to go back at a later date to pick up my plates, which was a quick and painless process. They have tools to help you remove the plates if you forget your own.

Do NOT send newcomers or racializwd minority seniors on their own, who may be treated as naively uninformed/manipulatable due to their English proficiency level. I hope Canadian standards still mean we protect people from being treated disrespectfully or taken advantage of their stressful situations.

The officer was rude and didn’t care about the situation. When asked “why is it not salted” he replied, “do I look like maintence to you?” This was a Toronto Police officer talking to a caring friend that had just slipped on their property.

I was rear ended, I don’t want to be here anymore than you want me to be speaking to you. I am completely able to understand your negativity, lack of courtesy as you shove the paperwork at me with highlighter pen on areas where I need to sign, as if I am lacking in brain cells and perhaps don’t understand what you are saying. With police officers in the family, I know good ones when I see them. You are not! I will enjoy telling them how grumpy and awful you were. We will laugh because a few bad apples slip through in all walks of life! I hope you retire in good time, so that you don’t have to inflict your attitude on any other citizen. I would wish you a good day, but I cannot be bothered, anymore than you could be bothered with me!!!! What a terrible experience.
